At the 30th anniversary of The Shropshire Round Table Lodge, the business was conducted in record time before Closing and inviting Brethren of Glittering Star Lodge (Irish Constitution) to open their Lodge and conduct a ceremony of Exemplification of an Initiation meeting. It was a fabulous way to celebrate our 30th anniversary and was attended by a total of over 90 Brethren of both Constitutions.
Brethren witnessed the differences (and similarities) between the Irish workings and our own – in particular, there were interesting connections with Salopian Lodge of Charity 117, which began as an Antients lodge and worked under a Military Warrant until 1820. The Worshipful Master of Glittering Star wore a collar jewel identical to that in the portrait of WBro James Mansfield, first Master of 117, which hangs in Freemasons Hall Crewe Street.
